Advent Activity Day -
November 2011
Sheila and satisfied customers. As usual, when Sheila poured the secret pancake mix, tastebuds sprang into action.
And there were many satisfied customers for the soup and buffet meal, as well as home-made cakes.
Connoisseurs will be able to see Mary's pickle selection. It was rapidly depleted.
And there were actvities for young and old as well.
Remembrance Sunday - 2011
During the act of remembrance, children laid wreaths at the foot of a tree near one of the war-graves in the churchyard.
Another Night at the Opera

By popular demand, Meridian Opera returned to High Beach Church on 16th July.
Summer Barbecue
- July 2011
Normally, the word barbecue causes rain but Rachel and Adam Scott were able to host the annual church BBQ on 2nd July in perfect summer weather.
Parish Camping Weekend - June 2011
A bit wet at times, but no damp spirits. Church in a tent was a novelty.
Christian Aid Activity Day - May 2011
The steelband of Walthamstow High School entertained in the churchyard.
Spring Tranquillity Trail

As part of the four seasons 'tranquillity trails', parishioners and others joined in a walk through parts of Epping Forest.
Revd Gill Hopkins leads a trail each season, with stops for reflection on thought-provoking quotations.
Away Day - March 2011
Parishoners took time out on an Away Day to explore the Seven Marks of a Healthy Church.
Carol Singing -
December 2010
... "Five Gold Rings..."
The Twelve Days of Chistmas and numerous other carols were enjoyed by the audience who had further treats, including mulled wine and some dishes from the medieval cookbook of Jane Begley.
Medieval Mystery Play

The Medieval Mystery Play, by Stephen Fellowes, was a central feature of the carol singing evening. In verse and song, with captivating humour, the play tackled in modern form the medieval 'mystery' format for presentation of biblical stories.
Confirmation and First Communion -
November 2010
High Beach Church welcomed eight adults and five young people as they celebrated their first Holy Communion. They had been confirmed by the Bishop of Barking at St John's, Loughton at a Deanery confirmation service on the previous Monday.
Advent Activity Day -

Painting paper lanterns.
It's warmer inside, but the cold doesn't bother those outside.
Outside, were found two little donkeys, all the way from Oakbeech Montessori School.
Shoe Box Sunday -
November 2010
Each shoe box contains small Christmas Gifts for girls and boys in countries such as Romania and Tanzania.
Fashion Show -

June, Julia and Alyson show off their cat-walk skills at the fashion show.
And afterwards ...
... Doug joined the crowds making their purchases! (Actually, he had been outside in the cold, helping people to park.)
Harvest Activities -

"I'll have some of your ham, please Mary!"
It is well known that Mary's ham is a highlight of the annual harvest lunch.
Parishioners prepare to join a walk in Epping Forest after the Harverst Service. The walk was led by Alison Hodgkinson and raised funds for training guide-dogs.
Harvest produce donated by parishioners was sent to Harlow Food Bank.
On Saturday, as part of the Harvest Activity Day, craft activities on a theme of St Francis of Assisi were enjoyed by young and old.
Gala Opera Night -

'Meridian Opera' delighted the large audience with a range of short scenes from Carmen, The Marriage of Figaro, The Magic Flute, The Mikado, The Pirates of Penzance and other well-known favourites.
New Vicar Licensed -
July 2010
On 25th July 2010, the Bishop of Barking led a service to license Revd Gill Hopkins as Vicar of
High Beach and as Chaplain of Epping Forest and Lea Valley Regional Park.
Flower Festival -

Many colourful and thought-provoking displays were presented in the church over the May Day Weekend.
